I don't know how to start this one.............but here I go!

My dear friend, I am thinking of you constantly during this very stressfull time. I wish your Mom and your whole family much strength during this long difficult time.

This is such a tough entry to write, probably because it's not your everyday so called normal topic. This one makes you THINK.......touches on life & death, which we usually don't like to visit unless we have to! It's also tough because it is such a PERSONAL decision......there is no right or wrong, what works for some, might not for others. Even if it is right for you, it can be such a double edged sword. Yesterday one family went into grieving and another was living a reality they have waited for, for 2+ years.

I am speaking of transplants, we hear about them all the time, usually it just comes and goes without another thought. Until of course....someone you know comes face to face with it.

Yesterday, a dear friend of mine took her mother to Edmonton for a double lung transplant. I can only imagine waiting for two plus years for this day to arrive. In an instant you get a call telling you to get to the hosptial IMMEDIATELY!!!! What a whirl wind of emotions! I am guessing it would be such a relief, FINALLY, but at the same time you would be so scared to enter such a serious surgery, and recovery. I could write, and write about how I think this must feel, but there is no real point, it's all an empty guess! What I do know, is I have talked and thought about signing a donor card long enough, tonight I will find online donor card, print off, and I will sign it.

If you have ever thought about this, please give it more thought, and make a decision! If you decide the answer for you is YES, PLEASE do it now! It will most likely save someones life!

Good for you mom. My donor card has been signed for some time. In addition to donate your organs, everyone can donate blood and that can also save a life.

Yes Danica, you are so right about donating blood. This is something I know I should be doing, I guess it's time for me to just SUCK IT UP, and not be such a WIMP!!!!!

I am very proud of you, and how regularily you go and donate blood. I am sure you have already saved someones life!!!!!

It has been important to me that I have signed the back of my donor card....if my dh or child needed an organ I would want one available....so why wouldn't I give something back! Thanks for enlightening everyone with this topic in your blog!

Ahh, Donna you are so sweet... I'm totally bawling now!! Thank you as always for your awesome support. You are such great friend. I always cherish that we can not talk for weeks and always just pick up where we left off. Thank you for all of your good vibes and prayers and bringing awareness to such a difficult subject. :)
