Childhood memories.....
Oh my, I ate something tonight that brought me back to a special childhood memory! For those who know me it will be No surprise this story is about ICE CREAM!

Do you ever wonder how true your memories are.....often I remember things and wonder if that's how it really was, or if that's just the way I remember it?

My memory.....gravel road, pick up truck, Iron River General store, Grandpa Knapp, & Creamsicles(this cold treat gives me nothing but warm feelings).

It seems to me it was always just me & Grandpa going to the Iron River General Store. Maybe someone else was there, but I don't remember them with us. Grandpa was probably going to get the mail and Grandma wanted a break so he took me along for the ride. I can remember browsing around while Grandpa did what he had to do....thinking the whole time, I wonder if he is going to ask me if I want a treat? Of course I would never think of asking, but was probably glued to the freezer where the ice cream was kept. Grandpa being the GREAT Grandpa he was would ALWAYS ask me, "would you like a treat"? I'm sure I NEVER said, "NO", or "NO THANK YOU"! I don't remember him asking me what treat I wanted, just "would you like a treat"? We would hop back in the truck each with a Creamsicle in hand, and head back to the farm. The short drive gave us just enough time to share our treat together, and as I remember it, no one ever knew!

I hope this gives you a chance to think back to a favorite memory of yours, it's a great feeling!

P.S.
If you are reading this, and you were there, and you know the truth, and it's different from what I remember.....PLEASE DON'T TELL ME....I want to keep my special childhood memory! THANK YOU!

AUNTIE NORMA
"To the world you may just be one person- but to that one person, you may just be the world."

I have picked this quote for someone special....Auntie Norma. She is usually running circles around everyone, for now she needs some recovery time. I am thinking of her non-stop, hoping things are improving by the minute. You are the WORLD to many!

Sept. 8th It's not fair...
is there anyone alive that has not said or heard this statement?
As a Mom I have heard 1000's of times, and continue to hear it(with grown children). This was brought back to mind for me on a scrapbook message board, and someone shared the following quote. She is a teacher of young children and tells her students this when the statement comes up.

"Fair is something you go to and eat cotton candy and ride rides" -ItalianGirl from 2Peas

Sept. 7th Katrina
The first thing I have to say is, LIFE IS NOT FAIR! It is VERY hard to realize the tragedy of this natural disaster while watching it on TV. You watch it and know it's true, but it's so hard to phathom these are real life stories, unthinkable(another day/time WE should can count our blessings)!

Sept. 6th Our brains....
I sat at the computer yesterday trying to think of topics for my #100 list. Well, as soon as I went to bed the ideas were just flying....should have got up an updated right then and there. Got up in the morning and they were ALL gone, hopefully they will be back SOON!
