Miss A is visiting today.........wonder what I wil learn!
- Red ants are poisonous.
- Caterpillars turn into butterflies.
- If you eat too much butter something will happen to your heart.
- Does Uncle Daylan have a penis? Our Dad has a penis!

Auntie Norma called and suggested I listen to 6:30 Ched to hear a message from a family member!
In the message Kristine mentions the Lois Hole Hospital website. I visited the site, and was happy to find a link where you could hear her message without having to wait for it to play on the radio. Be sure and check it out HERE!
GOOD JOB Kristine(& Brock)!!!
p.s. Kristine is married to my favorite 1st cousin Deryk(lol......private inside joke)!

Backing up a few days........FRIDAY!
I'm not sure why but I just love driving on highway 2.......I'm thinking it's because it's divided........no problem getting past the turtles on the highway! Crank the radio, and GO.......maybe even sing a little!!! By 12:30 I was at Dana's, and we quickly got to work. When I first arrived I thought oh my word.......we are in trouble........way too much to do in a short amount of time!!! But surprisingly, it went pretty fast..........all went well!!! Daniel and Daylan arrived in the evening, hauled the heavy stuff with Adam, and we actually did a little visiting in the evening at the new house!!! Sat. morning I did a bit more packing in the kitchen, the guys did another load........we then went out for breakfast, and by 11:00 Daylan & I were heading back to Camrose, wanted to get back in time to attend Natasha's dance performance. Daniel stayed later, helped out with some cleaning, buffed the hardwood floor, not sure what else, then he headed home around 5:30....planned to be home around 9ish!!
I can't believe it, I took my camera and never took one picture..........by the time I thought of it the new house was a shamble...........everything everywhere.........so I will have to wait for Dana to take a few pictures once everything is set up and looking GREAT!!! I will had them here once she takes them, and sends them to me.........house looks GREAT!!!!
Stay tuned!

Remember this? LOVE IT.......so much of it is SO TRUE!
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99....WEAR SUNSCREEN!
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be IT.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….
You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Sing
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own..
Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen…

Daylan makes the Camrose Booster!
When we were visiting Gido on the weekend he was asking(as he always does)how is Daylan doing in school.........then proceeded to tell the nurses about a cheque Daylan got in the mail for a 1000 dollars!!!
Here's the proof http://www.camrosebooster.com/news19.htm
In the paper there are pictures of each student. I'm going to send the newspaper clipping to Gido.........he will like to see a picture of Daylan in the paper!

Back to my 50 countdown.....holy crap I have LOTS of catching up to do!
So in #2 I mentioned I wanted to fill 50 Stampin' Up! boxes with stuff from the house, in an effort to clean the place up!
Here's how #2 & #3 are linked:
In order to fill 50 boxes I need 50 boxes come in, right? That means sell LOTS!!
Here's the story behind that.........
I am trying to earn the Stampin' Up! incentive trip, in order to that I need to sell lots of product, and do some recruiting.......that means hosting lots of classes, making new contacts, more classes, more contacts..........etc., etc., etc.!! It's a good thing I love doing this, becaue it is a lot of work! I am determined to DO IT!!!
So why am I telling you, you ask? If by chance, you, or someone you know wants to purchase ANYTHING from Stampin' Up!(me) I would really appreciate you letting me know, or visit here http://www.just4u.stampinup.net/ to shop online!
If you have ever considered signing up to be a SU demonstrator now is a GREAT time as there is extra FREE stuff being given during their annual Sale-A-Bration(some from SU, and some from me)!
If you would like to host a card/scrapbooking get together just let me know, I would love to come a create with you!
Long story short......now you can see how #2 & #3 are tied together, I need to work on #3 before I can accomplish #2!
I hope to earn a cruise when I'm turning 50(around the time), and be cruising around the time I turn 51......wish me luck!
Have a great day!

the BRAIN AGE craze.......it's hit our house!
Seriously, I think Daniel has cheated(or not played correctly)........he is much younger than I , AND he's younger than both Danica & Daylan............WHATEVER!!!
Didn't get here yesterday..........
Not a whole lot of celebrating going on.......Daylan had two test the next day so he was busy studying, and the girls came over to make valentines treats for Natasha's class. It was a quick supper of burgars, then cake...........DONE!!!
I recall one of the girls saying, "WOW, lots of candles"!
Then there's me thinking, "WOW, how young, so few candles"!
I guess when your 3(or 5), 19 is lots!
When your 50, 19 is a few.........LOL!!!
(yes......I'll be whining for a bit yet, hang in there)
Kirsten came over later to study........and brought this......NICE!!!!
Oh my word........it just hit me...........LAST YEAR OF TEENAGE YEARS(as a parent)! On Daylan's next birthday all our kids will be in there 20's........for sure now I'm FEELING IT........I'M OLD!!!

#2-50 boxes
I have decided that every Stampin' Up! box that comes into the house will go out again.........with stuff that I need to get rid of. I am hoping to donate most of my goodies..........not sure where yet, but I will find A place!! It's not really garbage, just stuff I don't need anymore!
My deadline to complete this challenge will be sometime in April...............that will mean I need to have 50 SU boxes arrive.....sound like lots.............yep it is, and that's another challenge I have!!! Stay tuned!

the dreaded day!

1st you need to section the hair...........

then you start back combing and rolling............

probably 125-150 back combs per dread..........you have no clue how long this take until you DO IT............the tips of my fingers feel raw, and Daylan's head is NUMB!!!

almost DONE.............only 10 or so to go!
will post an ALL DONE picture soon!
Look who I ran into, in Orlando.....what a PLEASANT SURPRISE!!!!
Tuesday, February 03, 2009
my 1st of 50 things isn't what I would call GREAT,
Last night for about 6.5 hours(no I'm not kidding), and this morning for about 45 minutes I back combed Daylan's hair giving him dreadlocks..........holy crop that's a LOT of work, and we are NOT done(10 more to go out of almost 50(lol), AND it's pretty ugly(he says so himself)!!!.........a whole head of hair totally knotted up.........???????
Apparently it gets better with time, there is a process.........the hair continues to lock up???
Yes there are pictures.........they will arrive tomorrow!

My BIG 50 countdown...........
Ya I know, it's two months away.........but I am challenging myself to do 50 GREAT things before(or around)my birthday........let's say between now and April 15th! I guess I shouldn't say GREAT.........it will just be 50 things I want to do, 50 things to mark my birthday!
Why so early you ask?........well 50 is LOTS, and will take some doing!!....so I need a BIG head start!!!
NO.............
I'm not happy with this number(50)........haven't had one yet(a bad number) so I guess I'm due!!!
PLEASE don't e-mail me or call and say..........."it's just a number" or, "you're only as old as you feel"........BULL CRAP to that.........it's not just a number..........it's 50....and for me it's not good!
50 means.........for sure I have more life behind me than I do in front of me!
50 means.........by now I should have most things figured out, and I felt less confused when I was in my 20.......go figure???
nope........I'm not done, more to come for sure......stay tuned!!
Overal my 50 things is going to be VERY positive...........but I just feel like grumbling to start out with...get the bad out of the way first......LOL!!!!

I hate to admit it.......but much of this is probably TRUE!!!!
NINE WORDS WOMEN USE
(1) Fine:
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes:
If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing:
This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead:
This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh:
This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misu nderstoo d by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay:
This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks:
A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever:
Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it:
Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
* Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology.
* Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know it's true!!!
3rd interview today........
Daniel has applied for a new position........and today he is going for his 3rd interview.........he is nervous.........this interview is with the BIG GUY, the HEAD HONCHO!
Good luck!

This is really embarrassing.....I didn't get it!
Which way is the bus below traveling? To the left or to the right?

Can't make up your mind?
Look carefully at the picture again.
Still don't know?
Pre-schoolers all over the United States were shown this picture asked the same question. 90% of the pre-schooler's gave this answer.
"The bus is traveling to the left."
When asked, "Why do you think the bus is traveling to the left?"
They answered: "Because you can't see the door to get on the bus.
" How do you feel now........are you embarrassed right along with me???
Thanks Lori.....GOOD ONE!

Ongoing RESOLUTION!
I will(try to)do something daily that is positive, an improvement from the past! These things will change from day to day, some repeating themselves more often than others(things that need the most work)........over all I'm hoping to improve the BIG PICTURE by doing LITTLE THINGS!!!
I was given a journal for Christmas(thanks Daylan)that will work great for this.
I will jot things in my journal, then once in awhile update here..........wish me luck keeping on top of this!
Watch for things like:
Eat better
Eat less
Read more
Volunteer
Take more(and better)pictures
Exercise
Send out more cards..........just because!
Make random phone calls to people I don't call regularily........just because!
Send out just because e-mails..........hopefully make someones day by being nice!
Surround myself by postive people!
Distance myself from people with attitude/a negative aura!
Empty my kitchen sink more often!
Clean house more often........or hire a house cleaner!
Do more scrapbooking, try and get published(Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine)using photos of Ashley(it's her turn)!
Use OLW for scrapbooking inspiration.........love the one little word concept!
Focus on LESS drama...........some thrive on it, but it drives me crazy!
there's more, but that's enough for now..........need to leave a few surprises for you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I find myself reflecting on 2008, and wondering what I need to improve on for 2009!!
I am at a place I would have never imagined I would be at as I enter into my 50's! Shouldn't life be getting easier, rather than leaving me feeling more confused.......just wondering, it seems it should??
I guess we will see.............maybe 2009 will have the answer!(but I'm not holding my breath)
