MY film cameras

This is my entry for this weeks challenge at the ONE LITTLE WORD blog.........a layout using the word "MY"!!!

the BBQ has FINALLY arrived!!!

Well way back in Feb. many people contributed to what would be DANIEL'S 50TH BIRTHDAY present!!!! It's now sitting on our deck ready to cook up a storm!!!

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE......he loves it!!! The best part........no propane bottles to fill!!! YEEHAW!!!!

Bought myself a Mother's Day present(month late)!!!

A CAMERA BAG.......so nice to finally have something that all my stuff fits into!!!

Although you can't tell in the pictures........this is a sling style bag. It holds my camera, zoom lens, battery charger, card reader, external flash, extra batteries, and there is room for more!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Look who's gone HAWG WILD!!!!

Daryl(my brother)has had his HAWG for awhile now(a couple of months), sorry I'm so SLOW getting this excitement on my blog!!!! I do have a better picture of Daryl & HIS BIKE.......but it's not at my finger tips...so this one will have to do for now!!!!

He's pretty happy/proud with HARLEY!!!

and look who joined him for a little spin!!!

this was a small road trip.......from Camrose to Edmonton....good photography work Lori!!! I was laughing(click on the picture to see my BIG grin)because we were cruisin' down the highway, Mom & Lori were travelling with us in Mom's car(Lori driving), so Lori pulls up beside us, Mom steers the car, and Lori takes the picture........maybe you had to be there......but it was pretty funny!!!!
NOTE: how do you like my antenna........I think I'm an alien!!!!

Danica gets a spin around the parking lot at Southgate......I'm sure she is anxious for a REAL ride when she gets out to the farm!!

Last but not least Little Natasha.........so cute!! When we were in the the mall she said she wasn't going for a ride, but when we got outside she changed her mind(I thought it would be the reverse). Anyway she jumped on and went for a spin.....WTG Natasha, you are pretty brave, Uncle Daryl's bike is pretty LOUD isn't it????

self-centered

[self-sen-terd]
–adjective
1. concerned solely or chiefly with one's own interests, welfare, etc.; engrossed in self; selfish; egotistical.

Why am I surrounded by SO many self centered people.....I am really getting sick of this ME society........I want to RUN away.....but where can I go????? I best not get going on this.....who knows where I will stop!!! I will grin & bear it.....for now!!!

What ever happened to treat people as you wish they would treat you.......I seriously need to start letting this backfiring on a few people......treat them how they treat others!!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Sadly the people I am referring to are plenty old enough to know better!!! The one person I could understand being self-centered because of their age(a teen-ager)is probably the most thoughtful person in my circle of self-centered people!!!!

I'll be back, I'm NOT finished!!!

round 2-
the rant continues!!!
I realize self-centered was a pretty broad statement...........and wasn't 100% fair! Maybe this all boils down to common sense........another thing that seems to be lacking in our society!!! Do for me as you want me to do for you.......pretty simple concept!!! Why is it so difficult for people to go out of there way to do something for someone.................JUST BECAUSE, and EXPECT NOTHING in return!!!! I get GREAT pleasure in doing things for people.......maybe I'm the weird one???

I'll be back..........maybe in the morning I'll want to delete all of this.....but somehow I doubt it!!!! Good thing I'm not in a bar tonight.........I would probalby pick a fight with someone!!!! LOL!!!

round 3
Damm, I woke up this morning...and the world hasn't changed!!! I'm more mixed up than yesterday.........I don't understand how something I conceive to be so simple can be made so difficult..........oh well such is life I guess!!

ROUND 2

2nd Challenge-Create a layout about a fear!!! This could be personal(you all know I'm not scared of ANYTHING), or a scrapbooking fear!

I choose to work on a scrapbooking fear because I CANNOT imagine doing a layout about WORMS......I squirm even spelling out the word!!!!

My scrapbooking fear is adding flowers to a male/masculine page, and here it is:
Titled:
THANK YOU for him!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture....pretty happy with the layout as well!!! Thanks for looking!!!
You can see my entry here:
http://www.scrapbookingfanatics.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=131&pos=11

ROUND 1

1st Challenge-create another layout using one or more of the pictures you used on one of the layouts you submitted for the contest! I choose to do my remake with a photo from the Peek-A-Boo layout. Photo enlarged to 8 x 10......pretty happy with the results!!!

Titled:
I SPY(clear letters on the photo)with my little eye......someone behind the camera! GRANDMA
You can see my entry here: http://www.scrapbookingfanatics.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=128&pos=14

My EXCITING scrapbooking NEWS!!!!

Well this news a couple of weeks old, but it's still news to many!!!!

I went out on a limb and entered my name into a Scrapbooking challenge on a site I call home!!!!

12 entries would be choosen to compete in a round of 6 challenges over a 6 week span!!! Much to my surprise......I was picked as one of the twelve!!!!! Doing the HAPPY DANCE!!!!

Each person entering had to submit 3 layouts.......here are the three I decided to submit!!! Hope you like them!!!

I have NO CLUE why these are sized so different.....oh well!!!!

paintbrush

A life long crafter, it didn't take her long to figure out that scrapbooking was more than a hobby... it was a calling! In between chasing her three year old daughter (and main muse) she teaches classes at the local scrapbook store in Spruce Grove, runs her own on-line store and writes the "Made in Canada" article for Canadian Scrapbooker magazine. She is also preparing a class for the Crop for Kids event to be held this coming October. Her style is usually a little messy, a little quirky and she loves to have fun playing with new techniques, but she has been known to try anything... Announcing the BIG MOVE!!!!

I haven't posted this excitement UNTIL today because I didn't want to allow myself to get EXCITED until I knew all the ducks were in a row, and it was REALITY!!!!!

I am getting new neighbors..........not next door(23km's away), but it feels like they'll be neighbors!!! Danica & Adam, and their two little Missy's(our granddaughters)are moving much closer........they bought themselves an acreage near Camrose(they've been wanting to GET OUT OF THE CITY for a year+)!!!! Although I am excited for myself, I am mainly excited for them.........they are SO looking forward to this move, they are TOTALLY in LOVE with their new HOME!!!!! They think they will adjust to country living.......JUST FINE!!! I'm sure the pro's will far out weigh the cons..........I'm sure hoping!!!!

As for me, I am TOTALLY looking forward to them being CLOSE!!!! Yes, I will be very happy to see D & A more often, but of course as a GRANDMA, I am really EXCITED to seeing the LITTLE munchkins MORE often!!!! I'm really going to enjoy the frequent little visits as opposed to 2 day visits once a month(or so)!!! It seems the many little visits will be SO much more fun! It will be so much easier to pick them up, keep them over night, take them home(LOL), go swimming, to the park, on a picnic, to the libairy, on and on!!!! When we get together for weekends or events.........there seems to be SO MUCH chaos........I don't get much 1 on 1 with them!!!! I hoping...being neighbors will FIX THAT!!!

for more info on their excitement & pictures of the acerage visit Danica's blog at http://mylittlepieceofparadise.blogspot.com/

A neat feature on my camera I've never taken notice of..........probably looked at it 1000+ times!!!!

Once I noticed this feature I got to thinkin'.................who long have I had this camera???? Danica said..........check your blog, you posted when you got it!!! Smart girl...............well I did, and it just days past 1 year!!!!

I still LOVE this camera.........and am thankful to have it each time I use it!!!!!

Onto the reason for this post!!!

The little feature I am speaking of is a photo counter.............yep it tells me how many photos I have taken...........anyone care to guess?????

9622...........I can't believe it!!!!!

I don't have that many pictures in hand...............I've taken that many! Big difference when you are speaking digital(for me anyway)!!!! I'm sure at least half of these are JUST BECAUSE IT'S DIGITAL!!!!!! Many are JUST PLAYING, and MANY are extra's/tons of the same subject JUST BECAUSE IT'S DIGITAL, and it cost nothing to TAKE A TON to get just the RIGHT ONE!!!! Make sense????

A little math tells me....on average I have taken:
801.8 per month
26.36 per day

Anyway that's my tidbit for the day...............I have much more to add.........I'm falling behind in my entries............must get on that...........SOON!!!!!

ONE LITTLE WORD BLOG CHALLENGES!

Use the word STOP
Take time to STOP and enjoy the little things!

I am so excited about this!!!
I have had these pictures for a year+ and didn't know how to scrap them!!! When I seen the challenge this title & these photos came to mind almost immediately!!!! AND I have had these little ANT brads for 5+ years I'm sure(got them in a brad swap).........sure is nice to put them to use!!!!! You might not be able to notice, but I have added a few ANT brads to the word STOP!!!! The challenge was just posted this morning....and I am DONE, WTG Donna(LOL)!!!!!

Use the word GO
Ready Set GO....After a long long wait the big day is finally here!

Not the greatest photo.....but I love it!!! Just before we were going to walk out the door to take Daylan to the school for the big departure, he remembered something and RAN to get it.......hence he is blurry in the photo!!!
Late getting this one done, but thought I'd post it ANYWAY!!! I'm thinking I'm not very happy with the balance of this layout....might have to re-do it....hmmmm????

Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like, "You know, sometimes I just forget to eat."

Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys, BUT I've never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.

**note: I didn't write this, I received it as part of an e-mail with several other one liners.......this one made me chuckle!! **
