Easter Flashback!

This morning I had a EASTER flashback and decided it was time I made some of these......
For many, many years Georgette made these popcorn nests at Easter(I'm sure there was one for everyone, and that amounted to LOTS)........I miss them..........they are SO GOOD!!
They always had Jube Jubes in them and a Cadbury Egg in the center........I can see them now!!

Funny thing is I made them, took them to Betty's and didn't even have one.......not even sure if mine were good.......silly me!!!!

Just got back from a GREAT Easter Egg Hunt!!!

What fun we had at Auntie Betty's Easter Celebration..........the kids had a BLAST, and so did I!!!! Thanks so much Auntie Betty...........you put a lot of work/effort into the hunt...........and it's much appreciated by all the little munchkins(and the big ones too)!!!

When we first arrived the table was filled with crayons, markers, and Easter pictures to color..........there was some pretty good coloring going on!!!
Then it was the hunt!! WOW........pretty lucky kidlets!
Then we ate....YUM YUM!!!
Then the kids decorated eggs!!!
Then we ate dessert!!!
and then sadly it was time to head home.....DARN!!!

Even as we were leaving the kids found another Easter treasure...........a nest filled with goodies......Thank you Auntie Norma!

Danica took quite a few pictures.......I will link to her blog once she posts them....I think they'll be pretty good.......LOTS OF COLOR!!!

The scrapbooking community is a GREAT support to the Stollery!

Last year I volunteered at the Crop for Kids(Alberta event).........which to my understanding donated approx. $15,000 to the Stollery!! I am anxiously awaiting details of the 2008 event........and look forward to supporting either as a registered guest or a volunteer!!!

Last fall the Edmonton Journal ran a story on how theraputic scrapbooking is to kids with cancer(at the Stollery), and that donations to the hospital in the form of Scrapbooking supplies/kits are greatly apprectiated!!!

This morning in Jayme's newsletter she has announced that she has been working with a local wholesaler, and the kit is almost ready for purchase........HURRAY!!! Do I or Don't I.........

make what would be our 6th(3 for Daniel, and 3 for me)trip out to the farm in Feb.! I wonder why Feb. seems like such a blur............it really has been NUTZ! The 1st of my 2 trips lasted 6 days............so that's basically one week being a right off(home wise)! Throw into that........Daylan(18th) & Daniels birthdays, me supposing to be on the Design Team at Scrapbooking Fanatics(I really did not do justice to that role, feel sick about it), SU Sale-A-Bration, Camrose Trade Show, Mom washere for 4 days.......hmmm what else!!!

Anyway, I really think I need to stay home for some down time! But it the same breath I might head out there tomorrow, and come back Monday! I need someone to help me decide!!

What I am also wondering about is.......G & R were out there over the past few days, Shirlee arrived today and will be there over the weekend..........is it wise to double up, or is it better to wait and go after.........someone make my mind up for me!!!!

Another confusing day........

way too many of these lately...........I feel like I am turning round and round in circles.......nothing makes any sense to me!!

For one thing......when I'm at home I'm thinking I should be in Bonnyville, when I'm in Bonnyville I'm feeling like I should be at home............WHERE SHOULD I BE? All I know I'm becoming physically ill knowing Baba is spending so much time alone..........instead of it getting easier, it is getting more and more difficult each day!!! Not sure how I can get past this?

How can a person(me), at almost 49 be so confused? Just when I thought I was getting things(life)figured out...........all hell breaks loose.........lost again!!

Anyway.........I have decided a good way to feel better might be to call the hospital each day, try to catch the Doctor, if not just touch base with the nurses!!! Hopefully this will make me feel better! So I called tonight........spoke with Laurie(she is so sweet), she said there was no real change, and Baba ate really well at supper!!!

Thanks to everyone that has called, e-mailed, left messages asking how Baba is doing.......it's so great to know people are thinking about her!!!! I will be heading back to visit in the next couple of days, and I will let her know you were asking about her!!!

As I sit here crying my eyes out I am thinking about what seems to be one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. I am so struggling with the role I played in getting her into the hospital when I knew she didn't want to go............now she is STUCK there, in jail as her & Gido would put it, and I'm partially to blame!!! You know what they say about hindsight.........it's 20/20! If I would have known then what I know now...............I can guarantee you someone else would have been the taxi service to the hospital!!!

And I ask you.............please don't call me on this, I wish not to discuss it...........I don't need anyone telling me what I'm feeling isn't right..........that's the way I see it, and I will NOT be changing my mind!!!!

Baba & Gido on Feb. 9th, their 67th Anniversary!

To post or not to post......this is a tough one, but I need to write or I am going to explode!!!

As many of my regular blog visitors know my DEAR(and I mean DEAR)Mother-in-Law is very ill.

I have always struggled calling her MIL because it often has a derogatory content to it........and she has been nothing but a gem in my life. Probably the most angry I have ever been at her was when she gave our kids what I thought was to much pop, or candy...........in the big scope of things..........TOTALLY MINOR!!!!

My heart aches for her, as her family(husband & children)gather to decide what is the RIGHT thing to do...........and in the end WHO really KNOWS whats RIGHT????? Sadly there are differences in opinions(and thats what they are, opinions)...........resulting in added stress!!!

Many have opinions on this, as do I............but do they really matter? What does it matter what I think, or what you think????

For me..........the REAL........RIGHT thing to do is carry out her wishes! Because her wishes are well known it should be irrelevant what ANYONE feels or thinks. Each & every decision shoud be based, and carried out representing HER WISHES, and NOTHING else.

But..........if life were that easy, I wouldn't be sitting here typing.....would I?

A not so HAPPY ANNIVERSARY...

today Baba & Gido have been married 67th years, a feat not celebrated by many. Although they won't be celebrating......they will for sure be side by side. It is my hope that they have a peaceful day together, and their children being by their sides gives them the strength to face whatever is ahead of them!!!

MY DIET HELPER!

As you may have read in a previous post I want to lose 5 lbs. by the end of Jan........well I've been on the right path with a some unexpected help from on of my little visitors(no not the deer).

Take a look what my fridge freezer looked like on Friday, not a good situation for someone that LOVES ice cream, and wants to LOSE WEIGHT!!!

Daniel opens the fridge Sunday morning, and what does he find but a pool of ice cream! He automatically thinks the fridge is DONE! With a little investigation we realize the controls inside the fridge have been turned to the warmest settings..............HA........I think.............little blondies!!!! So I get on the phone, and right away the true was out............way to go Natasha for telling Grandma YOU DID IT, very proud of you for being honest!!!

Long story short the ice cream ALL went in the garbage, and that's proboably good for a pound or two(lost)!!!

The little visitor are expected to come over today, I am anxious to see the reaction when they don't get their usual ice cream at Grandma's as soon as they walk in the door!!! Should be interesting!!!

My dear friend Peggy has another(little)man in her life.......her daughter had a baby BOY on Jan. 18th! Thanks to Great Aunt Leila for this picture(I was so anxious to see him).......he's such a cutie!!!!

The last of our 3 children turns 18 in just 15 days!!!

I am feeling kind of strange about this........not sure why, maybe because he's the youngest and this means our responsibilities as parents will be slightly less on the 11th of Feb.!

I haven't hit an age yet where I feel old....therefore I don't often think of my age. But when I do, I tend to age myself by the age and happenings of our kids, maybe this is why his birthday is weighing on my mind........him turning 18, is making me feel old!!!

Photo in the blog heading is of Daylan signing the papers to purchase his 1st car. He bought the car from Dolci(my cousin) & Brett, and the deal was made at Londonderry mall in Edmonton!

Anyone need to LOSE a FEW pounds?

Okay..........time to drop a few, pants are a little tight!!!

Anyone on board for 5 pounds by the end of the month(this month Jan.)..........come on we can DO IT!!!!

Then for FEB.(the chocolate month)5 more.............my goal is......by the end of Feb. to be 10 pounds less than I am now!!!

Small goal I know........but I want to make it DO-ABLE, and I want YOU to JOIN ME!!!

The very first ever Blonde Guy joke.....(thanks Cheryl)

An Irishman , a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.

They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building."

The Mexican opened his lunch box and Exclaimed," Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too."

The blonde opened his lunch and said, " Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too."

The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death.

The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too.

The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the bologna and jumped to his death as well.

At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!"

The Mexican's wife also wept and said, "I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much."

Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's wife. The blonde's wife said, "Don't look at me.
